INSIDE: Which STAR Event is your Perfect Fit?

Which STAR Event is your Perfect Fit?

By Shyamala Subramanian,  VP of Competitive Events

With so many STAR Events to choose from, you may be wondering which one will make you shine!

Prior to selecting a STAR Event, determine the aspects of your life and personality that you would like to showcase. Perhaps you want to show the world your formidable fashion designs (Fashion Design), or maybe you’d like to experience an eight-person team event in which you put into practice parliamentary law skills (Parliamentary Procedure). No matter your interests, FCCLA STAR events have something to offer you.

After deciding your interest field, determine whether you’d like to pursue an individual or cooperative path. Consult your friends and FCCLA members about their own interests to determine if they align with yours.

Finally, go forth and be successful! Decide on a STAR Event, make use of The Planning Process, and meet with your chapter adviser early and often to develop your ideas.

Below is a list of STAR Events. Additional information can be found on the National FCCLA website.

Best of luck!
