Phase I—Officership
Held at the 2008 National Leadership Meeting

Overview: Phase I of the FCCLA Ultimate State Officer Academy (USA) leadership training is held in conjunction with the National Leadership Meeting. Phase I is composed of seven hours of orientation and training over two days that centers around the essential elements of successful FCCLA leadership. Development in Phase I concentrates on the key expectations of state officers, critical FCCLA knowledge, and the team skills necessary to be effective in leading members and chapters across America. Team assignments and exercise will be made for officers to complete over the summer in preparation for Phase II and III of USA.

USA is not only for state officers! FCCLA begins on the local level! Chapter officers are now invited to attend USA trainings through a separate track during all four phases. Chapter officers will not only advance their leadership skills on the local level, but will be able to network with state and national officers, gain experiences to increase awareness of FCCLA, and take on responsibilities to carry out important duties to achieve the ultimate leadership experience.

How to Register:

As an officer, you will register for USA Phase I as part of your meeting registration. You must check off the appropriate box on the National Leadership Meeting Registration Form. The cost for this phase is included in the registration fee.
