Preparing to Attend
We are so excited for you to join us for the Ultimate Journey of leadership and advocacy training at Capitol Leadership. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth registration process and make the most of your experience at the conference. Step 1: Register to Attend
Registration for Capitol Leadership takes place in the FCCLA Portal. Only chapter advisers have access to register attendees, so all students, chaperones, and guests must register through their chapter adviser. Before registering, please ensure the following:
- Clear Outstanding Invoices: Ensure that all prior invoices in the FCCLA Portal are paid in full. Your registration will not be considered complete until this is done.
- Verify Affiliation Status: Both advisers and students must have a status of "Pending" or "Affiliated" in the FCCLA Portal. "Pending" status means you or your students have been submitted for affiliation and are on an affiliation invoice but not yet paid.
Step 2: Reserve Your Hotel Room(s)
FCCLA contracts with hotels in cities where nationally sponsored meetings are held. Room rates and the cost of meeting space are based on an anticipated room pick‐up. It is important that attendees stay within the official meeting/conference hotel block when attending the meeting/conference.
- Avoid Additional Fees: Attendees not staying within the official meeting/conference hotel block will be assessed a $125 fee per registration. The availability of a preferred room type will not provide an exemption from this policy.
- Conference Registration Required: Only registered conference attendees are eligible to take advantage of the FCCLA-negotiated conference room rates within the FCCLA housing block dates. To accommodate FCCLA members and for the safety of all attendees, every guest staying within the FCCLA conference block must be registered for the conference.
Step 3: Book Travel
After registering and securing your hotel accommodations, you can proceed to book your travel. To avoid any potential change fees, please ensure your hotel accommodations are confirmed before finalizing your travel arrangements.
