Competitive Events Dates to Remember

The dates and deadlines outlined below are for National Competitive Events.  Check with your State Adviser for specific dates and deadlines for state level competitions.

    September 8, 2026

    • Challenge Test Registration opens.

    September 29, 2026

    • Virtual Business Challenge (Entrepreneurship & Hospitality-Restaurant) registration opens at 10:00 am (ET).

    October 9, 2026

    • Challenge Test Registration Deadline.

    October 13 – November 6, 2026

    • Round 1 of the Virtual Business Challenge (Entrepreneurship & Hospitality-Restaurant).

    October 16, 2026

    • Challenge Test: Invoices Must be Paid.

    October 19 - November 20, 2026

    • FCCLA LifeSmarts/Knowledge Bowl Fall TeamSmarts NLC Qualifier Quiz—Coaches must register their teams at https://lifesmarts.org and take the quiz by November 20, 2026.

    October 19 - November 20, 2026

    • Testing window opens for Challenge Tests. Testing site open from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm (ET). 

    November 30, 2026

    • Challenge Test Proctor Form submitted using this link. 
    • Online STAR Events registration opens in the FCCLA Adviser Portal > Meetings and Events.

    December 7, 2026

    • Top 40 Knowledge Bowl Teams Announced on FCCLA Website.
    • Top 3 Fall Challenge Test Winners Announced on FCCLA Website.
    • Top 3 Round 1 VBC Winners Announced on FCCLA Website.

    FEBRUARY 1, 2027

    • Online STAR Events Preliminary Round registration and submission deadline.

    FEBRUARY 1 – 26, 2027

    • Round 2 of the Virtual Business Challenge (Entrepreneurship & Hospitality-Restaurant).

    February 1 – 26, 2027

    • Top 40 Knowledge Bowls teams take the Spring TeamSmarts Quiz by February 26. We also ask teams 41-50 to take the quiz for practice, in case they are invited to participate as an alternate. 

    FEBRUARY 26, 2027 (Subject to Change)

    • The Top 40 Knowledge Bowl teams must confirm National Championship participation completing the RSVP Form. We also ask that teams 41-50 to also complete the RSVP form so we can contact alternates if a Top 40 team can no longer attend.

    MARCH 1, 2027

    • Online STAR Events and National Leadership Conference qualifiers are announced.
    • Online Orientation Video released.

    March 29 - APRIL 2, 2027

    • National Championship Round of the Virtual Business Challenge (Entrepreneurship & Hospitality-Restaurant)

    April 12 - May 7, 2027

    • All National Leadership Conference participants qualified in the Parliamentary Procedure STAR Event will take the required Parliamentary Procedure Knowledge Test during the online testing window, April 12-May 7, 2027. Instructions will be emailed to the participant and their chapter adviser prior to the testing window.

    May 3, 2027

    • Culinary Arts & Baking and Pastry location and logistical information for participants released in the FCCLA portal

    May 5, 2027

    • Competitive Event registration deadline for states with state meetings before April 25, 2027.

    May 14, 2027

    May 19, 2027

    • Competitive Event registration deadline for states with state meetings after April 25, 2027. 

    may 24, 2027

    • STAR Events locations and logistical information for STAR participants and volunteers will be posted online and in the FCCLA Adviser Portal.

    JUNE 1, 2027

    • Final date to submit competition schedule accommodation requests before the fee.
    • Final date to submit a substitution for team events.
