Fall Leadership Institute

In the fall of 2024, FCCLA piloted two new leadership training opportunities for a limited group of affiliated members and advisers. In partnership with the Disney Imagination Campus at both the Anaheim and Orlando parks, FCCLA offered Disney-led sessions focused on Leadership and Teamwork within the parks.

Due to the program’s overwhelming success, FCCLA will expand this opportunity in 2025 to allow more students to participate. Additional Disney-led sessions have been added at each location, giving even more members the chance to develop valuable skills in a dynamic, small-group setting that goes beyond the traditional classroom experience.

Student attendees will have the opportunity to select a combination of two of the following workshops:

  • Leadership the Disney Way
What do college, high school, and middle school students have in common? The potential to become leaders. In this session, students will have a unique opportunity to explore their leadership potential by interacting with Disney leaders, engaging in activities, and experiencing hands-on learning. They’ll develop skills in effective communication, critical thinking, and innovation, while learning how everyone can be a leader. The session emphasizes Disney’s 5 Keys of Excellence—principles that guide Cast Members in everything they do.
  • Teamwork the Disney Way
How does Disney consistently deliver the magic guests expect? The key is for cast members to work together toward a common goal. This spirit of shared vision and collaboration is embedded throughout The Walt Disney Company. Students will discover Disney’s team philosophy and learn the strategies that power high-performing teams. Through real-life examples, they’ll understand how communication and teamwork help overcome challenges and achieve success.
  • Immersive Storytelling
At Disney, everyone is a storyteller. Immersive Storytelling comes to life when Imagineers build the environments that make stories feel real. Combining technology with fields like attraction design, culinary arts, live performance, music, and sculpture, Disney Imagineers craft unforgettable experiences. Students will get an inside look at how multidisciplinary teams create the settings and sensations that bring Disney stories to life across the parks.
  • Theme Park Design
In this interactive workshop, students will discover how Disney Imagineers combine creative vision with large-scale functionality to design world-class theme parks. They’ll explore the concepts, philosophies, and tools Imagineers use to create seamless guest experiences—from visual design to the operational flow of attractions. This session is ideal for students interested in themed entertainment, design, or project management, offering insights into how form and function make the seemingly impossible… possible.
