WHY PARTICIPATE?
Adviser Academy is a great way to grow your knowledge and FCCLA chapter, learn work-life balance, develop lesson plans, network with other advisers, gain year-long support from National FCCLA, and more!
Graduates of this year's Adviser Academy cohort will be recognized at the 2023 National Leadership Conference, receive an FCCLA certificate of completion, and receive two Continuing Education Units (CEU).
Additionally, participating advisers will have the opportunity to build a strong relationship with their state adviser and be engaged at the state level.

Course One
Open to any adviser with fewer than five years of experience.
Course Two
Open to any adviser with more than five years of experience or previous Adviser Academy graduates.
Future Adviser Academy
Open to any post-secondary FCS Education major who plans to advise an FCCLA Chapter in their FCS Career.

Course One - More Information
Adviser Academy - Course One Flyer
The Adviser Academy, Course One, is a four-track virtual training program open to any FCCLA adviser with fewer than five years of experience.
Graduates from the Adviser Academy will be recognized at the 2023 National Leadership Conference during the Recognition Session and receive an FCCLA certificate of completion and two Continuing Education Units (CEU). Participation in this course is included if enrolled in one of the two temporary chapter relief packages. Those not enrolled in a package can participate at a course fee of $90.
All courses will be held at 7:00 PM (EST) on the below dates.
Track 1: Developing a Chapter Vision
Virtual Training Date: Monday, November 7, 2022
Academy participants will explore FCCLA resources for both in-person and virtual learning. They will also learn about FCCLA program resources, tools and integrating FCCLA into the classroom.
Track 2: Creating Youth Leaders
Virtual Training Date: Monday, December 5, 2022
Academy participants will receive training on managing their chapters efficiently and setting organized and attainable goals for the chapter and school year.
Track 3: Leading at School
Virtual Training Date: Monday, January 30, 2023
Academy participants will receive training on how to be effective FCS and FCCLA leaders and communicators in their schools and communities.
Track 4: Remaining Relevant as a Chapter
Virtual Training Date: Monday, March 6, 2023
This track will focus on building and maintaining a healthy chapter by working with local media and connecting with business and industry leaders in their communities.
During participation in the FCCLA Adviser Academy, advisers must illustrate a working relationship with their State Adviser and pursue opportunities to support their state association activities. Before completing the application, communicate your participation to your State Adviser.
Each track of the Adviser Academy will require three to five homework assignments to be completed and submitted via Canvas before the subsequent track. Assignments vary from creating chapter resources and writing lesson plans.
To register, you must be an affiliated adviser (or on a pending invoice) with fewer than five years of advising experience and register in the Meeting and Events section of the FCCLA Portal by November 2, 2022. For those not enrolled in a chapter relief package, payment is due November 30, 2022.

Academy participants will develop skills to implement FCCLA resources for learning while integrating FCCLA resources and programs into their classrooms.
Track 2: Engaging Ultimate Youth Leaders
Virtual Training Date: Tuesday, December 6, 2022
Academy participants will receive training to provide and emulate leadership qualities through FCCLA participation and integration.
Track 3: Develop a Strong Local Foundation
Virtual Training Date: Tuesday, January 31, 2023
Academy participants will learn to involve key stakeholders, such as administrators and parents, and gain visibility for FCCLA by illustrating career exploration and preparation through FCCLA integration into their classroom.
Track 4: Expand your FCCLA Horizons
Virtual Training Date: Tuesday, March 7, 2023
Academy participants will focus on building and maintaining a relevant chapter by connecting with local media and creating partnerships with business and industry leaders.
During participation in the Adviser Academy, advisers will be required to illustrate a collaborative relationship with their State Adviser and be engaged at the state level. Before completing the application, communicate participation to your State Adviser.

Future Adviser - More Information
The Future Adviser Academy is a four-track virtual training program open to any future adviser enrolled in a Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Education post-secondary program.
Graduates from the Future Adviser Academy will be recognized during the 2023 National Leadership Conference Recognition Session. They will also receive an FCCLA certificate of completion and two Continuing Education Units (CEU). The cost to participate is $45.
All courses will be held at 6:00 PM ET on the below dates.
Track 1: All About FCCLA
Virtual Training Date: Wednesday, November 9, 2022
Academy participants will dive deep into Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). Learn who, what, when, where, and how to become a part of this dynamic youth leadership experience.
Track 2: Personal Growth and Leadership
Virtual Training Date: Wednesday, December 7, 2022
Participants will explore their own leadership potential and learn how this translates to successful FCCLA chapter advising.
Track 3: The Ultimate Leadership Experience
Virtual Training Date: Wednesday, February 1, 2023
Explore FCCLA’s more than 50 Competitive Events and eight National Programs while also seeing how your future students can benefit from these recourses.
Track 4: Towards New Horizons
Virtual Training Date: Wednesday, March 8, 2022
Future advisers will prepare a plan for their future chapters. Learn how to develop a program of work that integrates into your FCS curriculum.

HOW TO REGISTER?
To register, you must meet the requirements of your desired course and register in the FCCLA Portal under Meetings and Events.
Future Adviser Academy Participants can apply in the Alumni and Associates Portal under E-Store.
Registration is due November 2, 2022. For those not enrolled in a chapter relief package, payment is due November 30, 2022.
