Local Transportation
The hotel is ideally situated within walking distance of many of Washington, D.C.’s most iconic landmarks, including the White House, the National Mall, and several Smithsonian museums. Guests enjoy easy access to a variety of transportation options, such as the DC Metro and city buses, with Union Station just a short Metro ride or taxi/Uber away—providing convenient connections to Amtrak, MARC, and VRE rail services.
Rideshare services, including Lyft and Uber, are readily available throughout the District.
Metrorail (Metro): This is the cheapest and easiest way to get around the city. The Metro costs approximately $2.25–$6.75 per ride per person depending on the distance and the time of day (peak or off-peak). You can now Tap.Ride.Go using contactless credit, debit, or mobile wallets on your phone. No need to sign up, register, or purchase a SmarTrip card and skip the vending machines. SmarTrip fare cards are still accepted and can be purchased at each Metro station, allowing you to load money onto the card for your ride. Metro offers unlimited daily and multi-day passes as well.

The closest stations to the Capital Hilton are McPherson Square (Blue/Orange/Silver Lines) and Farragut North (Red Line).
Metrobus: Metrobus operates hundreds of routes throughout DC and the surrounding area. These buses are managed by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. Routes and schedules can be found here , and you can use the trip planner function to map out your route. Tap and Ride is not available for bus rides. A SmarTrip Card must be used on the bus.
