North Carolina FCCLA Welcomes Catherine Lewis as New Executive Director
RESTON, VA (July 27, 2020) – Catherine Lewis will be joining Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) as North Carolina’s Executive Director. Committed to making a difference in families, careers, and communities through cultivating youth leaders and addressing important personal, work, and societal issues, Catherine is eager to use her Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education and experiences to lead North Carolina FCCLA toward new horizons.
Catherine is a 2010 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Prior to her role of North Carolina’s Executive Director, Catherine was an FCCLA chapter adviser from 2010-12 and 2014-2020. In addition, Catherine served on the North Carolina FCCLA State Management Team, State Officer Election Committee, and as a State Website Co-Administrator.
As North Carolina’s FCCLA Executive Director, Catherine is responsible for assuring a skilled workforce through high quality Family and Consumer Sciences and Career and Technical Education for North Carolina by managing and directing the North Carolina state association of FCCLA, while also providing assistance to FCCLA’s operation team.
“For eight years, I have used FCCLA resources in my classroom, supported students as they grew out of their comfort zones and challenged themselves in STAR Events, supported students in chapter officer and state officer leadership positions, and provided support to other FCS teachers. I am so honored to get to continue this passion as North Carolina’s FCCLA Executive Director. I look forward to building relationships with FCS teachers across the state as we continue to lead “Beyond Measure” in serving our students with opportunities for real world skills and leadership development,” said Catherine Lewis.
