What is the Safe Roads Challenge mission?

Teen driver collisions remain a serious concern. In 2022 alone, over 1.27 million young drivers were involved in crashes, resulting in 180,000+ injuries and 2,000+ fatalities. Each summer, during the “100 Deadliest Days,” that risk rises even further.

The problem isn’t awareness—it’s engagement. Traditional awareness campaigns relying on fear-based messaging often alienates today’s teens, leading them to tune it out.

The Safe Roads Challenge changes that.

Built on behavioral science, it turns everyday driving into a fun and rewarding mobile app experience. Young drivers earn incentives, like gift cards from their favorite brands, by completing monthly community safe driving challenges, quests, and contests available year-round. Everything takes place in a positive, non-judgmental environment.

During the “100 Safest Days,” an initiative created to counter the “100 Deadliest Days” of summer for teen drivers, the Safe Roads Challenge makes safe driving more engaging by offering rewards teens actually want—like free coffee, movie discounts, and savings on their favorite brands. These rewards are earned through simple, interactive challenges and quests that make everyday driving more meaningful. This summer, the app also includes exclusive safe driving quests and contests for FCCLA members.

By combining behavioral psychology with incentive-based rewards, the program makes safe driving a natural byproduct, not forced. With immediate, relevant perks and light-touch messaging, it fits seamlessly into teens’ everyday lifestyles and summer routines.

How the Affiliate Partner Program Works — Simple, Impactful, and Rewarding

Meaningful change takes collective effort. Safer roads depend on partners, leaders, and communities working together.

That’s why we created a dedicated webpage where individuals, businesses, and organizations can support the Safe Roads Challenge by funding rewards for young drivers. As an affiliate, your chapter connects these sponsors to the mission by sharing a verified campaign link, helping bring in support while raising funds for your chapter.

What Your Chapter Gets

• 30% revenue share for every sponsor who signs up through your link
• Real safety impact reaching young drivers beyond your school

Your efforts also support FCCLA at the state and national levels, with a portion of revenue reinvested to grow programs and expand impact.

• Seasonal Campaign Offering: 100 Safest Days (Available: April to August)

  During this season, sponsors help fund rewards for challenges, quests, and contests within the 100 Safest Days campaign in the app. These interactive features are exclusively designed and available for young drivers aged 16 to 20.

  Below is a sample breakdown of what your chapter can earn when a sponsor purchases a Safe Roads Sponsorship Package using your referral link:

  • Local Impact at $50
 
    • 1 sponsor - your chapter earns $15

    • 5 sponsors - your chapter earns $75
  • Community Impact at $100

    • 1 sponsor - $30

    • 5 sponsors - $150
  • Regional Impact at $1,000

    • 1 sponsor - your chapter earns $300

    • 5 sponsors - your chapter earns $1,500
  • National Impact at $5,000

    • 1 sponsor - your chapter earns $1,500

    • 5 sponsors - your chapter earns $7,500

  What Sponsors Receive

  • Local & Community Impact Sponsors: Directly reward 1-10 young drivers through in-app safe driving challenges and quests.
  • Regional Impact Sponsors: An opportunity to host a custom in-app safe driving contest with a $250 prize, open to all users within your state.
  • National Impact Sponsors: An opportunity to host a custom in-app safe driving contest with a $1,000 prize, open to all users across the country.

  Payment Info:

  Payments are processed within a minimum of 10-15 business days after the campaign ends.

• Off-Season Offerring: Community Challenges (Available: September to March)

  During the off-season, sponsors help fund year-round community challenges with unique monthly themes. These challenges are open to all app users and drivers.

  • School Supporter Package at $24.50/mo

    • 1 sponsor - your chapter earns $88/year

    • 5 sponsors - your chapter earns $441/year
  • Local Partner Package at $99.50/mo

    • 1 sponsor - $328/year

    • 5 sponsors - $1,642/year
  • Community Partner Package at $149.50/mo

    • 1 sponsor - your chapter earns $493/year

    • 5 sponsors - your chapter earns $2,467/year
  • City Champion Package at $249.50/mo

    • 1 sponsor - your chapter earns $823/year

    • 5 sponsors - your chapter earns $4,117/year

  What Sponsors Receive

  • Reward Zone is the most valuable feature in the package. It’s a digital pin placed in high-traffic areas within the app. Sponsored pins feature the brand’s logo, giving the business visibility and a meaningful touchpoint with safe drivers.
  • A promotional kit to showcase their involvement in the initiative
  • A social impact report highlighting their contribution to safer driving—ideal for sharing with stakeholders.

  Payment Info:

  Your chapter may receive funds monthly via PayPal or twice a year by cheque.

  • For sponsorship subscriptions from October 15 to March 3, commissions will be sent in April.
  • For sponsorship subscriptions from March 4 to October 14, commissions will be sent in October.
